I officially have to be the WORST blogger! To all of the blogger's out there that keep up with their blogs, I bow down to you.  I am also the worst pinkie promise person, because I have promised to keep up with this and have slacked.  To make up for it there will be extra pictures of Kylie with this blog.

February was a busy month, especially with it being Uncle Jeffie's birthday month.  For those of you that visit this blog and may not know.  My brother passed away four years ago.  Every year around his birthday we put together a memorial poker tournament in his name, and we pick a local charity that the proceeds raised will help support.  This year we choose to support Hope for Hannah.  We also as a family go eat at Buffalo Wild Wings due to this being his favorite restaurant.  Kylie loves going there and eating.  Her uncle Jeff loved to eat wings and play the video trivia games.  Kylie took it in to make sure she got the entire table to cheers to Jeff.  She held her drink up and had us all clink our glasses together, it was too cute.  I also had to put $20 in the video game machine for her to play games for Uncle Jeffie. We have always made sure to show her pictures and talk about him over the years, to help her remember him.  The love she has for him is amazing, especially since he passed away when she was just three years old. A love like this is heart warming and more than words can express.  I know he is her own personal guardian angel.

I started taking some cardio boxing classes, that I just love.  Kylie came to watch me workout the other day, and she was pumped. We all know she can be feisty and ornery.  This was like her own personal dream.  She loves putting on her boxing gloves at home and punch her little punching bag.  So being in a real boxing gym she was stoked! She hopped in the ring and was pointing to the trainer, a fighter, and friend I work out with saying, "I want to fight you." During this pointing and talk about fight she has her gloves on pounding them against each other.  She doesn't mess around! I don't have to worry about her not being able to hold her own as she grows up.

This other picture is at the movie theater.  She saw the giant punching bag and was excited.  She had to take a picture with the Three Stooges.  Think it reminded her of our family :-)

Kylie loves mustaches and being silly.  Below is a picture of her imitating her Papa! Too funny!

Lastly, Kylie is gaga over Bieber still.  Do they have a support group for this yet?  I seriously should start one for all of these Bieber Fever children.  Kylie now finds pictures of him and kisses them.  I almost fainted, the boy crazy antic have started.  She has also named her penguin Bieber.

By the way I am not trying to make this a perfect English grammar and flowing blog.  I usually get to do this at midnight and not all here :-)  Please bare with me and any errors. Thanks!! :-)

Bingo, Fashionista, Holding Her Own, Lock Outs...

Hello all!! Sorry for the long wait again.  Apparently I am quite the slacker when it comes to this blog.  I always have constant entertainment to write about Kylie.  I just procrastinate when it comes to sharing it with you all.  So this will be a long post to make up for the lost time.

We had our first day of volunteering at the retirement home January 28.  I called their afternoon Bingo game.  Kylie was all pumped to go, but when we got there she became quite shy.  She did however give some great facial expressions to the residents when they were trying to talk to her.  It was funny because I would catch her mocking me, as I was calling out the number.  We plan on helping out again, hopefully next time she will be more comfortable and let her charm out.

Kylie has become quite the fashionista lately.  She prefers to pick out her outfits and what she will be wearing to school.  The other day she picked a very fun and stylish outfit.  I have posted a pic of it below.  Bieber shirt, sparkle skirt, and high tops, she was definitely rockin it!

Took Kylie and friends to a indoor entertainment center that has several moonwalks (bouncy houses) in it.  Kylie was in one of them trying to play, and a little brat of a boy started to pick on her. I tried not to be the overprotective mom, and stood back and watched.  I knew Kylie wouldn't put up with crap and she ended up clotheslining the boy when he came around the side of the moonwalk.  I was so proud of her that I ran up and high-five her.  That may not have been the appropriate thing to do, but  I was dang proud she held her own. She has her mommy's competitiveness and Bubba personality. Don't mess with us!

Ornery Kylie was at it again this past Friday morning.  We always go through the garage in the morning to get her on the bus.  As we were headed out to the bus Kylie pulled a quick one on me. I didn't realize it till I went to get back in the house and couldn't. That sneaking little stinker locked the door behind her.  I could just picture her face on the way to school with a Dr.Evil grin and giggle.  Let's just say the Wii was taken away for the weekend, because Mommy ended up being an hour and a half late to work by the time I got back in the house.

I got a new shirt that I love to wear proudly and will show a picture below. The videos are not uploading very well.  I think I am just going to start a YouTube page with her videos.  I will keep you updated when I get those up!

Dates, Cops, and Red Solo Cup

Peek-A-Boo I am back! Yes, I may have been in hiding for a bit, or just have been busy and slacking.  No worries I am back, and ready to keep this blog going. I am sorry for the long wait, and like I said before will get better at posting more often.

We have been very busy the past couple weeks.  Kylie was invited to a couple birthday parties which she was so excited to be a part of.  One of them had us eating at a Japanese Steakhouse, where they let Kylie wear the birthday mask for fun. As you can see in the picture below. She is very Happy Happy!

Kylie's new thing is wanting to go on "Dates" as she calls it.  She hears dates a lot in the movies and on TV, so now she is determined on having her own.  She gets super excited when she knows she is going to see her friend Tillman. I believe he is three years old,  she likes the younger ones.  Kylie makes sure I understand that it's a date when they are together.  They were eating cookies at the table, and  holding hands.  Oh man, and it starts.  She was super smiley , like when I see Vin Diesel shirtless.  Whoops too much information on that one :-) .

Kids are so funny these days, especially with the things they say.  Kylie is not a big fan of being told no, or that she can't do certain things.  I am being told often that she is going to call the cops on me.  Then when I tell her to go ahead, and that they will take her instead to their timeout room.  She giggles and says," I'm just kiddin Mom!"

Kylie has a new favorite song, "Red Solo Cup." That girl belts it out as loud as she can.  What even makes it better is when she has a drink in the car, and she holds it up in the air singing. Now where in the world does she know to do that. Oh, wait I better look in the mirror huh! I plan on video taping her singing to it, as well as, making sure she has a Yoo Hoo in hand.

We are excited for this Saturday, because it will be our first day volunteering at the retirement home.  Kylie and I get to call their bingo game.  I can only hope Kylie is on her best behavior, and not tell anyone they smell, ask to pull their teeth out, take their walker or cane away to play with, or do her booty shake dance moves.  I can't wait to see how she interacts with all of the residents.

Until next time, and sooner than later at that! We will hopefully have a good story about the retirement home.  I also hope to post some dance videos of Kylie soon. Micheal Jackson, LMFAO, Red Solo Cup, and much more.  To be continued.........

Happy Holidays & New Beginnings

Sorry it has taken me so long to post again. The holidays consumed me for the past two weeks plus some.  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. Kylie had an amazing Christmas, getting more presents than she knows what to do with them.  Her favorite gift seems to be the Nerf gun her Papa just had to get her. Any time she can attack mommy with a toy she is all for it.  How can I forget about all the Justin Bieber gifts she received, please help me get away from this Bieber Fever madness!

The funniest highlight of the Christmas season had to have been when Kylie played sick at school, so she didn't have to go see Santa at the mall with her class. We found out this year that she was not a fan of Santa in person. Loves reading about him in books, as well as, seeing him on TV, but a no go in person. This new finding lead to me having to leave work early, pick her up from school, and take her home to find out it was all a plan of hers.  Once we are at home she starts smiling and says to me,"Ha I don't have to go see Santa now!" Oh my was I not a happy camper about this, but of course I had to go in the other room and start laughing.  She is so smart and definitely knows how to take advantage of certain situations.

The picture below is Kylie playing with my hat, and it's obvious she has been watching too much Bieber or MTV.  She has the hat and pose to prove it.

We are very excited for the new year and all that it will hold for us.  Kylie is going to be doing big things and showing the world that anything is possible.  Having Down syndrome is not a disease but an amazing trait that is part of her. She is going to show the world she is a superstar, and can do anything she wants. Kylie really loves being in front of the camera weather it's for pictures or me recording her. Kylie tells me she is going to be in movies and in magazines.  Keep a look out and someday you all just might see Smiley Kylie on the big screen, or in People Magazine.

I am also excited to share that Kylie and I will be volunteering at a couple Retirement/Assisted Living homes around town.  I can't wait to see Kylie interact with the residents and to see the smiles on their faces. I thought this would be a great idea, because Kylie was so close to her Great Grandma who sadly passed away a little over a year ago.  She loves to interact with the elderly and thought she would have some fun playing Wii with them all.  I found out a lot of the homes have Wii's for the residents to play since they are so fun and easy for them. How can I forget that I am especially excited to spend some time there as well.  It saddens me to think that many of them never have visitors, and often just feel alone. I will keep you all updated on how our time volunteering goes.

I am going to leave you all with two pictures of her being a little fashionista in her new hat.

The Fever & Chocoholic

Sorry I am a little behind on writing this past week.  I had been busy getting ready for the holidays.  The slacker mom I am had to do a lot of last minute Christmas shopping.  I tell myself every year I will start buying presents six months in advanced. As usual I started late and had to cram in the shopping, like I did with my final exams.  I promise I will get better at writing every couple of days.

I have some bad news about Kylie. She was recently diagnosed with Bieber Fever. I know...I know, It's  very sad to hear.  She was given the Bieber Vaccine by me, as well as, all precautions in keeping her safe from it. I apparently failed as Dr. Mom, but I have had fun giving her the prescriptions of Bieber gifts.  The smile and joy on her face when she receives them is priceless and well worth the heartache. As you can see below nothing gets better than the look on her face!

Kylie has also decided to do something about her chocolate shake addiction.  She has come clean about being a Chocoholic!  Her guilty pleasure and mom's favorite bribe has become chocolate shakes. I just had to share the picture below.

Kylie and I had a blast getting our Christmas pictures done.  I ordered us two elf outfits to wear for them, which Kylie was more than excited to wear.  She is a big goofball like her mother.  I had a fun idea to be tied up in Christmas lights, my mouth duct taped, and Kylie standing there with her usual evil and ornery grin.  We had them done at Sears by a friend of mine, but  I did not pay extra for the cd, so hope you don't mind the copyright in the background of the pictures.

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas!!  Kylie and I had a wonderful time with family and friends.  Kylie got all the presents she has asked for, except for the puppy.  Right now a puppy is a possibility in the future.  She wants to name her puppy Cletus or Big Foot, but I am going to work on some other names :-) .  I will work on getting another post up in a couple days.  We wish you all a Happy New Year if we don't get back to you before. I will leave you with the picture of Kylie and the shirt that fit her perfect this Christmas season, "Dear Santa, Define Good."

Comedic Child

I am several days behind, but on Wednesday  Kylie's comedic chops came out in full force. To start our morning off right we usually do some dancing to get motivated for the school/work day.  Kylie's favorite song happened to be playing, "I'm Sexy and I Know It," which I playfully danced along to. Within a minute Kylie says to me, "That's not sexy and you know it."  I was speechless and couldn't stop laughing all at once. Nothing like a good laugh during the middle of the week right before work.

Apparently the comedic performance in the morning wasn't enough for Miss Kylie.  When I get home from work I see her teacher has wrote a few notes down on Kylie's take home sheet. What I was about to read next shocked me and gave me quite the curious giggle. Kylie had got in trouble for calling one of her paras a "Crack Head."  Wow, another moment of me being speechless, tends to be a pattern in my life with her.  Kids truly do say the darnest things, as well as, keeping you wondering where in the world they picked them up.

To finish out our evening we took a trip to Target for some last minute Christmas picture shopping.  While browsing the aisles we came across a halo headband.  I couldn't resist and told Kylie she needed to wear it around Target to make up for her mischief during the day.  Below are some wonderful pictures where she wanted to show she is truly an angel.

Welcome

Welcome to our world and new blog! This blog is dedicated to my hero and daughter Kylie.  Meet Kylie a sweet, funny, and entertaining seven year old who is full of charm way beyond her years. To add to Kylie's unique characteristics she just so happens to have Down syndrome.

In her seven years she has taught me more than words could explain.  By popular request from family and friends I have started this blog for them, as well as, wanting to share my experience and journey of raising a child with Down syndrome to others.

Please be patient with me, as I am learning the odds and ends of blogging.  I hope to catch on quickly and have this blog up and running like a pro.  Thank you for stopping by, and will leave you with a picture of Kylie in her Halloween costume.  She loves herself some Michael Jackson especially Thriller! This picture just shows how funny she can be!
